1. Who are Hideaway Resorts?

Hideaway Resorts is an Australian based company that owns and operates two of Australia’s most spectacular Island properties. Our head office is located in Cairns as we believe in having a regional presence near our businesses.

2. What properties do you operate?

Hideaway Resorts operates both Dunk and Bedarra Islands which are situated off Mission Beach - 120 kilometres south of Cairns.

3. What makes Hideaway Resorts different?

We want to be a hotel and resort operator that never loses sight of why we actually got in the tourism business. And that reason is to provide you with a memorable holiday experience that leaves you relaxed, refreshed and with a life time of memories. Whether it be a family holiday with the kids, a romantic honeymoon for two, or just spending time with someone special that is our business. We understand that time is too precious to waste, so we extend to you the promise that we will undertake every effort to make your stay with us truly special. It is our desire that you will never feel like a number, we want every guest to finish their holiday experience an ambassador of our resorts and return each and every holiday.

4. Can you give examples of your environmental initiatives?

We are striving to be a recognised leader in sustainable environmental tourism practice. We are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Through a series of initiatives across our resorts we are focusing on energy management – reducing electricity consumption and LPG usage – and waste management techniques to reduce disposal to landfill. We also focus on efficiently managing our water resources and protecting biodiversity – native flora and fauna.

5. How do you interact with the local communities in which you operate?

At Hideaway Resorts, we take seriously our commitment to support the local communities in which we operate. Our focus is on local needs and issues where we feel we can genuinely make a difference. Our commitment extends to:

• Financial/cultural partnerships

• Joint venture agreements and partnerships

• Education programs – including work experience

• Sponsorships

One of our recent initiatives has been to sponsor the Mission Beach Film Festival to ensure that these community based programs have the financial backing to get off the ground.
